Legacy Compose applications keep the old name of an external volume. The
deployment log now tells the user why and how to move to the external
volume. The storage page shows external volumes as a read-only list.

An hourly command releases managed DNS records whose references all point
to missing or deleted resources, or that have no references after a grace
period. Each record goes through the per-hostname lock and re-check, so a
hostname that a user adds back is kept. An empty reference list no longer
deletes all references of a record.

- Editing a domain (UI application, service and preview domains, the
General form, API application, preview, service, and service
application updates) now releases the hostnames that the edit
removed, like removing a domain does. Records that another live
resource still uses are kept.
- A per-hostname lock (managed-dns:{team}:{hostname}) now covers the
release (re-check, Cloudflare delete, row delete) and the create
paths. A release can no longer delete a record that is being added
again; a busy lock makes the release retry and the create wait or
retry, and a create after a release makes the record again.

Switching an external volume from the old <uuid>_<name> volume to the
declared external volume on redeploy could make an app look as if it
lost its data (for example a database that initializes a new, empty
data directory).
- If a resource already has the storage entry with the old generated
name, the parsers keep using that volume and show a warning in the
deployment log and the service start log, with the steps to switch.
- Without that entry (new resources, or external volumes added later)
the external volume is used as declared.
- Deleting the old storage entry (storage page) switches to the
external volume on the next deployment; the storage entry shows a
note about it.
- Legacy Compose applications (parser versions 1 and 2) never stored
their volumes, so they keep the old volume names.

Compose volumes declared with external: true (or external: {name: x})
were renamed to <uuid>_<name>, so containers got a new empty volume
instead of the existing one. All Compose parsers (applications,
previews, services, and the legacy parsers) now use them as written:
no uuid prefix, no preview suffix, the top-level declaration kept, and
no tracking row, so Coolify never removes a shared external volume.
External volume names must be literal; ${VAR} names are rejected.
Existing <uuid>_<name> volumes and their rows are kept on redeploy.

- Compose content files are written by a queued job. Deployments and
service starts now check all content files with one command before
docker compose up: a missing file or an empty directory (left by
Docker) is written; an existing file is kept; a directory with files
is kept with a visible warning.
- The server file sync that runs after every parse marked a file
storage as a directory and deleted its configured content when a
directory was at its path. A storage with content now keeps its
content; an empty directory is replaced with the file.
- Saving a storage no longer fails for an existing file, replaces an
empty directory, and no longer deletes a directory with files.

The Gitea handler read the pull request commit from a top-level
head.sha that Gitea does not send, so preview deployments always used
HEAD. It now reads pull_request.head.sha, with the top-level after of
newer Gitea versions as a fallback.

Development mode rewrote /data/coolify paths to the dev Docker volume
for every server. That is only right for the testing-host backend,
which uses the host Docker daemon. The KVM localhost and other dev VMs
have their own /data/coolify, so bind mounts, Compose content files,
the Traefik and Caddy traffic mounts, Sentinel, and database proxies
pointed to wrong paths there.
- Server::sharesDevHostDocker() and devHostDockerPath() decide per
server; only the testing-host server (ip coolify-testing-host) gets
the volume path. Production is unchanged.
- The testing-host volume names come from the Compose project
(DEV_COOLIFY_DATA_VOLUME, DEV_COOLIFY_BACKUPS_VOLUME), with the
legacy names as fallback.
- In development, saved proxy configurations with the old path are
fixed when they load and ask for a proxy restart.

Every webhook handler (GitHub, GitLab, Gitea, Bitbucket, GitHub App,
GitLab App) now reads the fields it uses through typed readers: refs,
titles, and actions must be strings, ids positive integers, commit
SHAs 7-64 hex characters, and URLs http(s). An invalid value returns
"Nothing to do. Invalid '<field>' in the request." without a
deployment. Signature checks and the failure lockout are unchanged.

- Deleting a Docker Compose preview removed every top-level network
and volume named in the compose file, so it could disconnect
coolify-proxy from the coolify network or a shared proxy network and
delete a shared named volume. It now removes only the network and
volumes that Coolify generated for that preview, and a network only
when no other container uses it.
- A deployment that stops with an explained error (unsafe compose,
missing secret keys, invalid build variable names) shows the
explanation once, followed by "Deployment failed.".
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- A Compose bind volume with a Coolify `content:` block could make
Coolify write any host file (for example /root/.ssh/authorized_keys)
when the file was loaded. Content sources must now be inside the
resource directory (./ paths); other sources get a clear validation
error for services and applications (UI, API, load, deployment),
and every content write is confined again on the server. Bind
mounts without content are unchanged. All 94 template content
volumes use ./ paths and still work.
- Quote container names in scheduled tasks and in the stop actions for
applications, previews, and services.
- Fix a development-only crash when a preview with a bind mount was
parsed (the preview suffix returned a plain string).

- GitLab, GitHub, and Gitea crashed with a 500 on push payloads without
a commit list, and other malformed payloads (missing repository,
project, ref, Bitbucket changes, non-string values, unsupported
Gitea events) also returned 500. They now get a clean response; a
push with an unknown file list still deploys, and a branch deletion
does not deploy.
- The manual webhook lockout counts only distinct failed attempts: the
same wrong GitLab token, or an identical HMAC redelivery, counts
once, so a misconfigured hook no longer locks out a valid one. Every
new guess still counts (30 per scope and minute). Attempts are
stored only as HMAC hashes.

Git-based Docker Compose applications skipped the Compose injection
validation that services use. It now runs when the file is loaded or
reloaded, when the raw Compose is saved (UI and API create), and at
deployment before any command uses the file; an unsafe file is not
saved, and a deployment stops with a clear log line.
- All 371 service templates and realistic Compose files still pass.
- Network names may now mix text with $VAR, ${VAR}, ${VAR:-default},
or ${VAR-default} (for example ${COMPOSE_PROJECT_NAME}_default), so
such existing applications keep deploying; command substitution and
unsafe defaults stay rejected.
- Quote the preserved-repository path in a stat command.

A resource with several traffic keys (Compose services, previews) was
queried key by key, and unique visitors were summed, so one visitor
on two keys counted twice. When Sentinel has the new
/api/resource/{uuid}/traffic routes, Coolify now asks once per
resource and gets merged unique visitors and latency percentiles; the
"approximate" badges go away for a resource on one server. Older
Sentinel versions answer 404: Coolify remembers this for 5 minutes and
uses the per-key merge as before.

The container removal started with a variable assignment
(container_ids=$(docker ps ...)). For non-root SSH users the sudo
parser turned it into "sudo container_ids=...", which sudo rejects,
so deleting a service or a service sub-resource failed. The script now
runs as one sh -c line, which the parser runs with sudo as a whole.

- Imports store their cleanup data (names and paths, no credentials)
on the activity. When Coolify fails an import after a restart or as
stale, it queues a stop of the restore inside the database container
(only processes of that operation and their children, bottom-up so
the database server is not affected) and the normal cleanup.
- The cleanup runs once per import, and a stopped CoolifyTask does
not run again when the queue retries it.
- The stop message stays on the activity: RunRemoteProcess saves the
process id at start from the stored properties and keeps a stop
status at the end, and CoolifyTask::failed() keeps the message.
- Regenerate the OpenAPI spec (409 for database start, restart, and
import, plus earlier API changes that were missing).

A Docker Compose application could use ${VAR} as a network name, but
only services created the variable. With ${VAR:-default} the value was
hidden and could not be edited; with ${VAR} Compose got an empty name
and the deployment failed. Applications now get the variable (and its
preview copy) with the default from the compose file, like services.

- Servers with caddy-docker-proxy older than 2.9 show a warning on the
Proxy page and the traffic analytics settings, with the fix.
- Caddy 2.9+ images get the basic_auth label; older ones keep the
deprecated basicauth, which Caddy 2.7 still needs.
- Caddy mounts StartSentinel::trafficLogDirectory() as /traffic, so
Caddy and Sentinel use the same access log, also in development.
- The development data volume is configurable (DEV_COOLIFY_DATA_VOLUME,
same default as before) and shared by Traefik, Caddy, and Sentinel.

Two parallel start requests both passed the in-progress check and got
200, because the start activity is created later by the queued action.
A per-database reservation (Cache::add, 600 s) is now taken before the
check, so the second request gets 409. The action releases it when it
creates its activity, skips, or fails. Restart, import, the deploy
API, MCP, and Livewire use the same reservation.

When a Compose service uses a remote Git context, variables, or an
inline Dockerfile, Coolify cannot add ARG lines, and Docker ignores
build-time variables that the Dockerfile does not declare. The log
line now gives the reason and lists the variable names (never values,
at most 10) that need an ARG line in the Dockerfile.

When the terminal started automatically, the session timeout started
only after a token arrived. If the server returned no token (container
not running, no shell, access denied, terminal disabled), the spinner
stayed on "connecting…" until the page was reloaded.
- Every early return now sends terminal-session-failed with a short
message; denied and unknown servers get the same text.
- Auto-start starts the session timeout in init(), so a missing token
always ends in a visible error with "Reload page".
- With more than one container, auto-start is cancelled, so the
container picker shows no false timeout error.

- A Coolify restart now fails queued or running database imports, so
they no longer block all later imports with 409.
- An import without progress for the SSH command timeout plus 30
minutes (at least 2 hours) is stale and no longer blocks.
- The import sets its operation property when the activity is created,
so a worker cannot save the activity without it.
- Start and restart refuse a second operation while a start, restart,
or import is in progress, in the UI, the API (409), and actions.
- DatabaseStartJob runs only while its activity is still queued and
the newest one, and holds a lock per database during the commands.

Failed manual webhook deliveries were counted per provider and source
IP. On Coolify Cloud many customers share the Git provider IP, so one
repository with a wrong secret locked out valid deliveries of all
other repositories for 60 seconds.
The failure key now also contains the repository and branch. Guessing
the secret of one application stays limited to 30 tries per minute,
and a lockout rejects all deliveries in that scope, also correct ones.
A GitLab request without a token no longer counts as a failure.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- A failed command marked skip_command_log (for example the .env,
build-time env, and SSH key writes) no longer puts its text into the
exception, which was shown as the visible "Deployment failed" line
with all secrets as base64. Its error output is also cleaned.
- Mark more secret-carrying commands as sensitive: the helper container
with build secrets, railpack prepare, the Nixpacks plan, and Compose
file writes.
- Dev debug lines list only variable names, not values.
- Invalid build-time variable names such as my-var stop a deployment
only when it builds an image. Docker image deployments log a warning
with a suggested name instead.

Traffic analytics now covers every resource on both proxies:
- Caddy: Compose applications and services get access-log labels. The
log_append key is {uuid}-{service}, the same key Sentinel reads from
Traefik router names.
- A resource owns the Sentinel key {uuid} and every key that starts
with {uuid}-. Application pages and the traffic card now merge all
keys, so Compose applications and previews show data on Traefik too.
- Global analytics: the leaderboard groups the keys of one resource
into one row, lists services, and never names keys of other teams.
- New service analytics page (project.service.analytics) with the same
view and authorization as the application page.
- Switching the proxy type restarts Sentinel when analytics is on, so
it reads the new log path. Sentinel gets no traffic mount when the
proxy has no analytics support.
- Caddy servers show a note that resources log only after a redeploy.

Add a proxyNotRunning flag to the server sidebar state. The Proxy menu
item's warning icon now also appears when a proxy is configured but its
status is not "running". The navbar sends the flag in the
proxy-configuration-state-changed event, so the icon updates live.
Add tests for the dispatched flag and the sidebar bindings.
Wrap the danger-zone component in a bordered red-tinted card with
padding and dark-mode variants, align content to the top, switch the
title and description to neutral text colors, and add a "Permanent"
pill next to the title. Update the layout test to match.
- ServerSetting: default is_traffic_analytics_enabled to false on the
model, so a new instance does not show null before a refresh.
- Update navbar, mobile menu, and proxy button tests to the current
redesigned UI (split action menus, settings rail, neutral icons).
- Traffic nudge test: set server_role to mark a build server, the same
as the product code.

Since GitHub App and GitLab API calls use the outbound URL guard,
GitHub Enterprise or GitLab on a private network failed with "Webhook
URL resolved to an unsafe IP address" unless an admin allow-listed it.
On self-hosted instances, Git source URLs and requests now allow
private (RFC 1918), CGNAT (100.64/10, Tailscale), and IPv6 unique local
addresses, plus internal hostnames such as .internal, .local, and
container names. Loopback, localhost, link-local (cloud metadata),
0.0.0.0, and other reserved targets stay blocked. Redirects stay off
and DNS stays pinned. Coolify Cloud and all other outbound URLs keep
the strict rules.

In Postgres one failed server update aborts a shared transaction, so
all later queries fail and the upgrade stops. Save each server on its
own so that one failure affects only that server.

Older Coolify versions saved Traefik configs with a router that sends
requests with the proxy container name as Host header (for example
traefik-coolify-proxy) on port 80 to api@internal. New installs no
longer get these labels, but saved configs keep them after an upgrade.
- Replace only the unchanged legacy labels with traefik.enable=false,
keep comments and formatting, and skip routers the user customized.
- A migration and GetProxyConfiguration fix the saved config in the
database only. The proxy is not restarted; the UI asks for a restart.
- Change the pending notice to "Your configuration changed, please
restart the proxy."
- Resolve conflict markers committed in the Server Proxy component,
which broke the proxy page.

Traffic analytics:
- Reject enabling unless the server runs a Coolify-managed Traefik or
Caddy proxy, and show the reason in the settings UI
- Save the proxy configuration before the setting so a failure leaves
both unchanged; allow disabling after the proxy was removed
- Skip the proxy restart when the proxy is stopped and report that the
config applies on next start
- Preserve the user's own Traefik --accesslog* flags and restore them
when analytics is disabled
- Rotate the Traefik access log in the sidecar with BusyBox tools
(copytruncate, 5 gzip rotations)
- Create the access log before starting Sentinel, which opens it once
Terminal:
- Detect and surface WebSocket connection rejections in the browser
terminal, with shared helpers in terminal-connection.js and
terminal-utils.js
Database import:
- Restore PostgreSQL backups in a single transaction; SQL replace
restores go into a temporary database and swap in only on success,
leaving the current database untouched on failure
