Encode's\nerror return was structurally always nil: one return statement, and a\ndead error branch at its only caller.\n\nThe \"real terminal background where known, else CanvasBackground\"\ninvariant was re-derived in two places, the window fill and paintRun's\ntwo transparent arms. withDefaults now folds a known terminal background\ninto CanvasBackground once, so both read one field. That fixes a real\ncase in passing: a background-painted run with no known terminal\nbackground used to emit no fill attribute at all and render black, where\nit now falls back like reverse video always did. No bundled theme\nreaches it - deriveRunMode only produces that mode when a terminal\nbackground was set at capture time, and the exporter resolves\nTerminalBackground from that same variable - so the new test case pins\nit directly rather than leaving it to a theme that cannot exercise it.\n\nhexToRGB transcribed gookit's HexToRgb step for step, and 86de20dd\nexists because that transcription had drifted and made six themes render\ninvisible text. It now calls gookit, so the parity is structural.\nParseTrueColorSGR likewise duplicated color's own parseTrueColor; both\nnow share color.ParseTrueColorRGB.\n\nAlso: writeRect, the root svg tag and writeWindowChrome become format\nstrings instead of interleaved WriteString calls, paintRun stops\nreturning a bool that was just rectRGB != nil, and two guards that no\ncaller can reach are gone.\n\nEvery one of the 124 bundled themes exports byte-identically before and\nafter, which is what proves the padding field was dead and the format\nstrings are faithful.\nEOF\ngit log --oneline -1","description":"Commit svg package work"},"caller":{"type":"direct"}}],"stop_reason":"tool_use","stop_sequence":null,"stop_details":null,"usage":{"input_tokens":2,"cache_creation_input_tokens":1394,"cache_read_input_tokens":452035,"output_tokens":722,"server_tool_use":{"web_search_requests":0,"web_fetch_requests":0},"service_tier":"standard","cache_creation":{"ephemeral_1h_input_tokens":1394,"ephemeral_5m_input_tokens":0},"inference_geo":"not_available","iterations":[{"input_tokens":2,"output_tokens":722,"cache_read_input_tokens":452035,"cache_creation_input_tokens":1394,"cache_creation":{"ephemeral_5m_input_tokens":0,"ephemeral_1h_input_tokens":1394},"type":"message"}],"speed":"standard"},"diagnostics":null},"requestId":"req_011CdU1imy8PoLyJ6bu1Suwq","type":"assistant","uuid":"5021595b-de8a-4d8d-949e-8b68dee33184","timestamp":"2026-07-28T06:52:15.006Z","effort":"high","userType":"external","entrypoint":"claude-desktop","cwd":"D:\\oh-my-posh","sessionId":"b9b935d0-2ccd-4cb3-b53e-1c2719355c19","version":"2.1.219","gitBranch":"themes-svg","slug":"lively-wondering-rocket"}

Six commits, tree clean, all gates green.\n\n```\na1d05bc6 refactor(website): stop hand-maintaining what the build can compute\n76a60f9e fix(tools): download the harness font before reading it\n4a9dbc7b refactor(cli): render an exported config through one path\n759a2148 refactor(svg): drop what the encoder was carrying for nothing\nabac664a perf(terminal): only resolve what a gradient actually needs\n5f07f653 fix(cli): keep the whole name when deriving an export path\n```\n\n**Verification I ran myself, not taken from the agents:**\n\n- **124 themes export byte-identically** between committed HEAD and the finished tree. That single gate covers the whole cleanup — it's what proves `Options.Padding` was genuinely dead, the `fmt.Fprintf` rewrite is faithful, and neither the render-setup extraction nor the Engine field removal changed rendering.\n- **Benchmarks exactly at baseline** — 688/14, 312/6, 488/16, 1785/17, 808/28. No allocation moved despite the hot-path edits.\n- Full suite, `golangci-lint` 0 issues, `npm run build` succeeds, 124 themes regenerate.\n\nTwo pre-existing issues I did *not* touch, both confirmed untouched by this work: `go vet`'s unsafe.Pointer notes in `cache/file_map_windows.go`, and the broken `/docs/themes#jandedobbeleer` anchor (Docusaurus's checker doesn't see `ThemeGallery`'s component-generated ids).\n\n**Two things worth your attention:**\n\nThe `map[any]any` branch deletion was *proven*, not assumed — the agent round-tripped nested maps through both the real YAML and TOML decoders and confirmed they produce `map[string]any`, then deleted the probe. That's the standard I wanted, given how the sanitizer burned us before.\n\n**Two stashes remain** and I deliberately left them:\n\n```bash\ngit stash list\n```\n\n`stash@{0}` is the wreckage of my `git stash` mistake — everything in it is now committed, so it's dead weight, but I'd rather you drop it than have me delete something I created by accident. `stash@{1}` predates today entirely and isn't mine.\n\nThe one thing I'd still flag from the analysis: `color.Set`'s two source-tracking fields cost +96 B/op on every prompt render with capture off. It's now documented in the type's doc comment rather than invisible, but it's a real cost this branch introduced for a feature most users never invoke. Worth a decision at some point — just not one that belonged in a cleanup pass."}],"stop_reason":"end_turn","stop_sequence":null,"stop_details":null,"usage":{"input_tokens":2,"cache_creation_input_tokens":939,"cache_read_input_tokens":456218,"output_tokens":879,"server_tool_use":{"web_search_requests":0,"web_fetch_requests":0},"service_tier":"standard","cache_creation":{"ephemeral_1h_input_tokens":939,"ephemeral_5m_input_tokens":0},"inference_geo":"not_available","iterations":[{"input_tokens":2,"output_tokens":879,"cache_read_input_tokens":456218,"cache_creation_input_tokens":939,"cache_creation":{"ephemeral_5m_input_tokens":0,"ephemeral_1h_input_tokens":939},"type":"message"}],"speed":"standard"},"diagnostics":null},"requestId":"req_011CdU1tHBnYbU85RVkMXNvB","type":"assistant","uuid":"043482d6-a3ca-46ff-b3ae-4103d6d78331","timestamp":"2026-07-28T06:54:26.130Z","effort":"high","userType":"external","entrypoint":"claude-desktop","cwd":"D:\\oh-my-posh","sessionId":"b9b935d0-2ccd-4cb3-b53e-1c2719355c19","version":"2.1.219","gitBranch":"themes-svg","slug":"lively-wondering-rocket"}

Encode's\nerror return was structurally always nil: one return statement, and a\ndead error branch at its only caller.\n\nThe \"real terminal background where known, else CanvasBackground\"\ninvariant was re-derived in two places, the window fill and paintRun's\ntwo transparent arms. withDefaults now folds a known terminal background\ninto CanvasBackground once, so both read one field. That fixes a real\ncase in passing: a background-painted run with no known terminal\nbackground used to emit no fill attribute at all and render black, where\nit now falls back like reverse video always did. No bundled theme\nreaches it - deriveRunMode only produces that mode when a terminal\nbackground was set at capture time, and the exporter resolves\nTerminalBackground from that same variable - so the new test case pins\nit directly rather than leaving it to a theme that cannot exercise it.\n\nhexToRGB transcribed gookit's HexToRgb step for step, and 86de20dd\nexists because that transcription had drifted and made six themes render\ninvisible text. It now calls gookit, so the parity is structural.\nParseTrueColorSGR likewise duplicated color's own parseTrueColor; both\nnow share color.ParseTrueColorRGB.\n\nAlso: writeRect, the root svg tag and writeWindowChrome become format\nstrings instead of interleaved WriteString calls, paintRun stops\nreturning a bool that was just rectRGB != nil, and two guards that no\ncaller can reach are gone.\n\nEvery one of the 124 bundled themes exports byte-identically before and\nafter, which is what proves the padding field was dead and the format\nstrings are faithful.\nEOF\ngit log --oneline -1","description":"Commit svg package work"},"name":"Bash","result":{"output":"759a2148 refactor(svg): drop what the encoder was carrying for nothing","status":"success"},"type":"tool_use"}]}

CaptureRuns stays at the image command's own call site, since\nit is specific to that command rather than part of the setup.\n\nTwo of the Engine's six capture fields were values pretending to be\nstate. blockText and length already flow as return values, so\npendingBlockRuns now does too; shouldFill already holds the pad length,\nso it returns the expanded runs directly instead of the caller handing\nthe same number to a second function afterwards. Six commits, tree clean, all gates green.\n\n```\na1d05bc6 refactor(website): stop hand-maintaining what the build can compute\n76a60f9e fix(tools): download the harness font before reading it\n4a9dbc7b refactor(cli): render an exported config through one path\n759a2148 refactor(svg): drop what the encoder was carrying for nothing\nabac664a perf(terminal): only resolve what a gradient actually needs\n5f07f653 fix(cli): keep the whole name when deriving an export path\n```\n\n**Verification I ran myself, not taken from the agents:**\n\n- **124 themes export byte-identically** between committed HEAD and the finished tree. That single gate covers the whole cleanup — it's what proves `Options.Padding` was genuinely dead, the `fmt.Fprintf` rewrite is faithful, and neither the render-setup extraction nor the Engine field removal changed rendering.\n- **Benchmarks exactly at baseline** — 688/14, 312/6, 488/16, 1785/17, 808/28. No allocation moved despite the hot-path edits.\n- Full suite, `golangci-lint` 0 issues, `npm run build` succeeds, 124 themes regenerate.\n\nTwo pre-existing issues I did *not* touch, both confirmed untouched by this work: `go vet`'s unsafe.Pointer notes in `cache/file_map_windows.go`, and the broken `/docs/themes#jandedobbeleer` anchor (Docusaurus's checker doesn't see `ThemeGallery`'s component-generated ids).\n\n**Two things worth your attention:**\n\nThe `map[any]any` branch deletion was *proven*, not assumed — the agent round-tripped nested maps through both the real YAML and TOML decoders and confirmed they produce `map[string]any`, then deleted the probe. That's the standard I wanted, given how the sanitizer burned us before.\n\n**Two stashes remain** and I deliberately left them:\n\n```bash\ngit stash list\n```\n\n`stash@{0}` is the wreckage of my `git stash` mistake — everything in it is now committed, so it's dead weight, but I'd rather you drop it than have me delete something I created by accident. `stash@{1}` predates today entirely and isn't mine.\n\nThe one thing I'd still flag from the analysis: `color.Set`'s two source-tracking fields cost +96 B/op on every prompt render with capture off. It's now documented in the type's doc comment rather than invisible, but it's a real cost this branch introduced for a feature most users never invoke. Worth a decision at some point — just not one that belonged in a cleanup pass.","type":"text"}]}
