Foreground and background accept linear-gradient(stop, stop, ...) with hex or palette-reference stops, interpolated per visible cell in HCL space and emitted as truecolor escapes (256-color fallback when the terminal lacks truecolor support). Powerline separators, diamond caps, and parentBackground/parentForeground collapse to the matching gradient edge so adjacent glyphs connect with the correct color.
